Jean-Paul Estiévenart Dutch Quartet

29.03.2025 – 18:00
Jean-Paul Estiévenart - trumpet / Ben van Gelder - saxophone / Tijs Klaassen - double bass / Jamie Peet - drums

The River Jazz Festival is giving trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart carte blanche, a rare opportunity to discover new performances steeped in his world and his musical collaborations.

Alongside saxophonist Ben van Gelder, double bassist Tijs Klassen and drummer Jamie Peet, Jean-Paul Estiévenart wanted to bring together the cream of current Dutch jazz for a concert rooted in the American jazz tradition but with a clear European influence. Over the years, Jean-Paul Estiévenart has forged close links with Dutch musicians renowned for their dedication, open-mindedness and New York-influenced approach to jazz. This concert will highlight the qualities of each of the musicians in this singular collaboration, where every note will resonate with a spirit of freedom.

The evening continues at 19:30 at the Senghor (intimate duo) and at 21:00 at the Teatro Marni (swing party).
