With this new work of initiation, Fabian Fiorini invites us to leave the beaten track and enter the forest. An archaic, original forest, like the one on which Europe was built - a place where spirits are called, where we listen to the pulsations under the moss, where each step opens a passage. Conceived as a journey in three waves, this unique piece stretches out like a long breath. It progresses through inner repetitions, like so many calls to refocus, to let oneself be guided by one's own trip. The pianist deliberately abandons the traditional compositional form - theme, improvisation, return to theme - to open up a wilder, almost ceremonial space. There are echoes of his work with Renette Désir and the power of Haitian voodoo, and his interest in trance music in general: human, organic electro that speaks and carries.
It maps out a series of encounters, leaving each soloist a clearing in which to exist. The cast, matured over nearly a year, brings together accomplices with whom links have already been forged. The concert will be a moment of reunion, a place where something essentially spontaneous can emerge.
An improvisation teacher, Fabian Fiorini approaches this creation with confidence: confidence in each individual, confidence in the encounter with the audience. He is willing to let go, to stand in the momentum of live performance, where anything can happen. This music calls for a form of meditation: opening up to what surrounds us, becoming aware of the discreet beauties between us, within us, around us. An immersion. A path. A forest. Silva Sonora.
