Jean-Pol Schroeder, a specialist in jazz and more particularly in the history of this syncopated music in Belgium, set up the Maison du Jazz de Liège in 1994 with Jean-Marie Peterken, a centre for documentation, entertainment and promotion of jazz in Belgium. For many years now, Jean-Pol Schroeder has been collaborating with the Jazz Station, offering themed jazz history courses on two Tuesdays a month. Once again this season, he's continuing his portraits of musicians who have left their mark on their time. This special course, which is part of our festival, will be devoted to the double bassist and composer Charles Mingus, who was also renowned for his commitment to anti-racism.
