Commander Spoon from Brussels bring a wide range of influences to their energetic jazz, from hip-hop, R&B and electronica to African and Brazilian music. The quartet is made up of saxophonist Pierre Spataro - who is also the creator of the cosmic melodies - guitarist Florent Jeunieaux, bassist Fil Caporali and drummer Samy Wallens.
They have released several EPs together and an LP entitled 'Spooning', in which they interweave their eclectic wealth of influences into an energetic sound, respectfully demolishing the walls between genres. You may also have seen them separately on stage or in the studio with artists such as Roméo Elvis, Reinel Bakole and Echt!
Commander Spoon is used to drawing jazz that has nothing to do with the rules, colouring outside the lines in blistering movements.
