Somewhere between a big band, an improvisation collective and an avant-garde jazz ensemble, MikMâäk is synonymous with organised chaos and incredible solo interventions, flowing organically into liberating compositions... all with a disarming touch of humour.
The musicians are constantly on the lookout for new sonic, rhythmic and harmonic possibilities. It was this curiosity and thirst for discovery that prompted their invitation to French guitarist Marc Ducret.
Marc Ducret is drawn to a wide range of modes of expression, both in his guitar playing, which incorporates a wide variety of sound production techniques, and in his work as a composer. He plays 6- and 12-string electric and acoustic guitars, fretless, baritone and soprano.
