"A simple idea that jazzes up the improv".
The Senghor - Centre Culturel d'Etterbeek, in collaboration with JM Brussels, introduces children and adults alike to improvisation, starting from very simple basics and using the concept of the musical idea.
Not only jazz, but music in general is based on this method. The musical idea is a three-note motif or rhythm, something that can be easily recognised and reproduced, and then developed... ad infinitum.
The trio's modern jazz has a strong experimental edge, based on improvisation and sophisticated writing that advocates autonomy, perpetual movement - and freedom of thought.
If you're a morning person, you'll be able to take part in the 11am concert... If you're a late riser, come and join us at 2pm! 1, 2, 3... Ready? Off you go.
